HAPPY DRAGON YEAR!!!
It has only been a few months but I feel like I have grown tremendously. Not taller (much to my despair), but UP. *Yikes*. I was just telling the Queen Slut the other day that the reason why we feel so disoriented at times is because our intellectual and emotional Selfs are often at conflict with each other. The trick to life is to figure out how to bring your emotional Self in line with the intellectual one because the intellectual solution is what you want to feel and what is also best for you. But when that fails, do not be reluctant or hesitant to turn to extreme measures (hahahahah). Just a few things I did the past couple of months:
- Booked a ticket to Vietnam on the last day of my exams and flew there the next day. Best decision I’ve made for a while.
- Got a naval ring. Second best decision.
- Dyed my hair red. (The Queen Slut insisted on helping me with it).
- Drove my dad’s car secretly when he was in the States. (This worked out splendidly for me because he started to trust my driving skills and allowed me to drive his car when he got back. Moral of the story: You’ve to take your own life in your own hands.)
- Survived on 6 hours of sleep for 3 whole days to rush out the memorial for the HK Moot Competition. (Excess energy put to good use).
- I am proud to say I have only passed out once from alcohol the past few months *pat on the back*.
It’s been a crazy 2011. Lots of (unnecessary) drama, many regrets on my part. However, I am certain that this year will be great! The fortune teller on TCS 8 said so one. People born in the year of the Snake have 5 stars of luck! Happy last day of chinese new year my friends!
On another note, here is a short something-something for a special furry friend of mine.
I knew Golden Boy for about 2 years now. And among the 3 furry friends, he is my favourite. When I first visited, Golden Boy would always bark noisily at me across the gate. I thought that he did not like me much then. However, I grew to realize that Golden Boy would bark as noisily at his owner as he would at me. From then on, I knew that it must have been love. Ha ha!
Whenever I visited, I would try to spend some time with him and the other furry friends. I would ask them how they were doing in English and sometime Mandarin (they understand), pat them on the head (only to find huge pimples hidden within their fur) and egg them on to bite their owner (my favourite). Golden Boy was special; I would spend an unproportionately long amount of time rubbing his belly (sometimes till he sleeps) … just because he likes. Golden Boy has an extremely wet nose, which he would not hesitate to poke me with whenever I stopped patting him. He is also extremely greedy and would poke me with his wet nose for food when I’m eating at the dining table. Whenever I could, I would toss him a few pieces of vegetables and fruits (the owner very health conscious with the furry friends ah).
Golden Boy is going to a better place today. Even though I have only known him for 2 years (which must be like 50 years in human life), I will miss him dearly. Goodbye Golden Boy.
